KRS Sustainably Aquacultured Copepods – Tisbe & Apocyclops Blend

This blend combines two powerhouse copepod species—Tisbe biminiensis and Apocyclops panamensis—for maximum coverage across your reef tank’s water column. With both benthic and midwater behavior, this mix supports a biodiverse microfauna population, ideal for corals, picky feeders, and nutrient cycling. Gut-loaded with lipid-rich phytoplankton and harvested fresh in-house at KRS.

Why Choose KRS’s Blended Copepods?

  • Balanced Biodiversity – Crawling Tisbe + swimming Apocyclops = broad ecological coverage

  • Loaded with Nutrition – Full spectrum of essential fatty acids, protein, probiotics, and enzymes

  • Fresh and Active – Harvested weekly and conditioned for maximum viability

  • Supports Multiple Species – Perfect for corals, fry, dragonets, anthias, wrasses, and more

  • Ideal for Long-Term Seeding – Thrives in rockwork, refugiums, and macroalgae zones

Species-Specific Advantages – Tisbe + Apocyclops:

  • Tisbe biminiensis: Benthic copepods that hide in substrate and reproduce steadily

  • Apocyclops panamensis: Midwater swimmers with rapid reproduction and visible feeding cues

  • Blend ensures continuous availability for day-active and nocturnal feeders alike

  • Great for new tank seeding, ongoing dosing, or pod culturing systems

KRS’s Standard 8oz Pod Bottle Includes:

  • 100+ live adult copepods and nauplii (combined species)

  • Effective for feeding or seeding aquariums up to 40 gallons

  • A great choice for reefers starting or maintaining a live pod population

Seeding Instructions:

  1. Shut off all pumps, UV, and skimmers 10–20 minutes before dosing.

  2. Dose at night or with lights off to help copepods settle and reproduce.

  3. Add directly into refugium or near live rock and macroalgae.

  4. Feed TSA phytoplankton 1–3 times per week to fuel growth and reproduction.

  5. Maintain macroalgae to support sustainable populations over time.
